God's word is my anchor in the roughest waters
my lamp through the darkest night
And it is also a light unto my path
to lead and steer me right
He is my sword in the hottest battles
and my banket to keep me warm
It gives me a signal ahead of time
to keep me from all harm
It's a shield to protect me from the wars within
my front lights to help me to see
It's the best meal on my table
Having everything that's good for me
It is that map when I need directions
when I don't know the road to take
And it's right there to point the way
so no short cuts do I need to make
I like the pages of his recipe
It has the right seasons to fit every need
and whatever the problem it supplies the source
if my little heart take heed
It's my compass in the wilderness
and a sonar in the deepest sea
So why should I fear the troubled waters
when I have his word to set me free
His word is a medicine in any sickness
the best remedy when I get ill
For it can soothe way the hurts and pains
in any situation I can use this pill
It can be a block for unwanted thoughts
when the negative try's to sip in
It helps keep the soul from being damaged
of the craftness that has no end
His word is also a lock and key
whenever I go to pray
It opens up the channels of my heart
to lead me in what to say
Every word of his comes with a promise
if I take it in and let come a part
of my every day living this life for him
so this is where I have to start
