Praise god no matter what…

I find it easy to breathe a prayer of thanks to god when things are going my way,
When there is order in my world and when there are no bumps on the path.
But I have been challenged in my readings to look further than the circumstances that befall me.
Up till now I have had a less than gracious attitude when things arise to meet me on my way. Someone cuts me off in the car; my thoughts are not of praise.
My kids are fighting and the weathers hot, yes you guessed it, they aren’t of praise.
So many times every day when I have things to disturb my peace.
I cannot say that I have been thankful for the unexpected illness or the thousand things that seem to creep into my day and cause me moments of discontent or vexation.
I cannot say that my thoughts have turned to praise of god at these times at all.
And yet god commands us to do just that.
It goes against all we regard as sensible to thank god for all things not just the good.
I have found it hard recently when the flu bug bite me to be thankful to god for it…
But that is just what I should be doing.
Recognising that I am where I am because god is in control and continuing to praise god regardless of what is happening to me in the natural.
We give all the room to god and the devil none when we commit to praise god despite what might be going on around us.
The word tell us that the “joy of the Lord is our strength”.
The battle isn’t ours it’s the Lord’s, while we praise him he sends the enemy packing.
The word says also “in everything give thanks, for this is the will of god in Christ Jesus concerning you… All things work together for good for them that love the lord”…
Note it says all things work together for good, not are good…but work together for good…
God is God and it is in him that we place our trust, our hope, our healing and our help.
I have been challenged to see my everyday situations with a god perspective…
So the next time I have a hiccup in the road and I am tempted to complain, get mad, or gripe…. I’ll try praise… and turn my situation into a praise of god…
It won’t make the situation worse and if all I have read is true,
It will turn my whole life around…
Now that’s an experiment that is worth exploring.
