Things I Cannot Understand- GOD Does
By Robert Schaetzle

If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? Proverbs 24:12 ESV

If you’re like me you might be asking our Lord at times… “Lord, I don’t Get it! Why can’t I understand?” Only to recognize, there are some things God knows ‘we are not there yet… to understand.’ Over the years I have come to say, “thank you Lord for not allowing me to understand, in a particular situation of my life.” God does repay, that is to say, ‘bless,’ or ‘take away,’ as He sees fit.

We can be inhibited due to our anxious heart. In my old age, the will of my flesh wants to say something else other than what I should hear, if I don’t listen. Learning to be still is the only way we’ll hear the Voice of His Holy Spirit reveal what is best. Over what our human reasoning thinks. God does repay according to what is coming from his or her heart.

How I have learned from the wisdom of God’s word to lead me.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20

I remember a close friend I worked with many years before I retired. He paraphrased Proverbs 18:17, which says; The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him’.

My friend would tell it this way… “The first person doesn’t stand a chance, does he?” How true it is when we open our lips and speak without realizing what might come out!

Father, thank you for helping us to be slow to speak, and learn to be a better listener to Your Voice.

We all seek to understand, but, you are correct. Some things we are not yet meant to understand...just trust the Lord. Thanks for the share.
