                            How Do I Enjoy Today ?

By Robert Schaetzle

O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:1-2 ESV

When I awake each morning I cannot begin my day unless I share a praise thought like “This is the day the lord has made for me, I rejoice for His presence to lead me.” It makes no difference how much rest I might have received the previous night. In my senior years I’ll wake once or twice each night. But I purpose not to dwell on me. I recognize His promise; ‘Greater is He in me…’ According to God’s word I am his personal property as proclaimed from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.I was purchased for His honor and ‘good works.’

My attitude of gratitude is to decide a heart of thankfulness over despair. It really makes no difference whether a young teen or a golden ager. We all have choices and tasks to be accountable to our Lord. With responsibilities God brings to each one of us. The best part of recognizing His ownership of me is that God will indeed equip us for the task he presents for us to do. For the teen or young adult in school or college, when we learn to dedicate the day for our Lord, we have God’s promise to lead and provide what is necessary for that day. But we must be mindful to ask!

Be sure in asking God to equip us for what is before us as God equips and instructs, and not for our self-purpose. Remember what James warns us about asking.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. James 4:3

So, to enjoy each day, remember Who owns you and wants His very best to make your day as fulfilling and rewarding without fear or anxiousness.

Father, thank you for giving us your joy in what we are about.

Enjoy every day as a gift from God, and praise Him for it. Thanks for the share.

You wrote some words of wisdom here: "My attitude of gratitude is to decide a heart of thankfulness over despair. It really makes no difference whether a young teen or a golden ager."
Thanks for sharing brother!
