“Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; and to You the vow shall be performed. O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come. Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.

Blessed is the man You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple.” Psalms 65: 1-4

Yes, the day is coming when Zion (Israel) shall offer pure praise to God and will be faithful after many, many years of unfaithfulness. All flesh, all nations will address their prayers to the One who hears after futile years of calling out to idols.

The psalmist sensed a discouragement when viewing his defeat before iniquity but equally recognized the gracious remedy for such a state... “You will provide atonement for them”. What a blessed transition, bringing peace.

The psalmist knows that there can be a no more secure state than being told with certainty by God, “I have chosen you”. With the choosing comes the astounding invitation to approach God, the Chooser, and to dwell in His presence.

Where can complete and pure satisfaction be found?...by making a home in the goodness of God and in His holy presence. The psalmist knew this and strove to live it.

Because He, who hears prayer, invites all flesh to come to Him, may I add my voice to the multitudes that call in hope and expectation, by His grace and for His glory.
