                                                Having Truth To Lead

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 ESV

It truly is a delight when we recognize God’s word (truth promised) for leading us. It is through faith given us that we have promise, taking hold of Jesus to lead, develops intimacy with Him. To be recognized as a verb, that is an action of God’s Spiritual presence at work. Not just for us to learn His sufficiency, but witness our Lord equipping us to face everything that comes before us with His preeminent authority over us.

The evidence of our Lord’s authority is given for us always, from His word.  When Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life…” . (John 14:6a) Examine each of these words from this verse. Many ‘I  AM’ proclamations give evidence of Who Jesus is. When our Lord proclaimed, ‘I Am the Way,’ consider what is spoken in Mathew seven when Jesus informed us; “For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Mathew 7:14 We often find challenges along our path from potholes that might cause one to stumble along our way.  

When Pilate confronted Jesus from the last part of John 18:37 our Lord replied, “ For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth.” Pilate came back by asking Jesus; “Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” John 18:38
Pilate didn’t understand or recognize ‘Truth’ was standing right in front of him.

Our ‘new life’ we now receive and live through faith, is our compass to lead and fulfill what we are seeking in ‘Abundant life’ promised us. (John 10:10b). I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Jesus is our ‘Truth’ to lead us!
