And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, becoming like him in….
  Philippians 3:9-10a ESV

The purpose of Jesus abiding in us is living life by way of God’s Holy Spirit, not fleshly strength. Is not His presence our intercessor, as we bring our praises and petitions before Him, to find His  sufficiency? For sure, my life through prayer is to know Him.

When I listen to His Voice, am I  not dialoging with my Lord? My point is to recognize my intimacy in the presence of Jesus in me. To become a better listener about  my concerns. Because God knows what’s on my heart long before I ask him.  

 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
 Romans 8:14-16

Intimacy with my Lord who intercedes for me, is far greater than my petitions of concern. My life ‘in Jesus,’ abiding in me, is recognizing my Daddy in heaven. Greater and more powerful than all fear of my inability to do in my own strength.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.  And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

So my chief purpose of prayer is intimacy with Jesus, my intercessor for all my needs.

Father, thank you for allowing me this wonderful  intimacy with Jesus, through prayer amen
