                                I AM PURCHASED!

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 ESV

‘I have lost nothing of what I have in God.’ (C H Spurgeon) We are so blessed to be part of His inheritance, so we ought to be joyful to proclaim Jesus our Redeemer. Are we jealous for Jesus? Is God’s word at work in you and me as God would like it to be? Since I wear His name ‘Christian,’ the and presence of His Holy Spirit is  abiding in me. I should be illuminating or shining brightly with delight to love with revealing to others how I was purchased to become part of the Family of God.

If I were to ask for a show of hands; “Do you belong to Jesus?” What would your heart speak? Proverbs 27:19 shares, ‘As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.’ As a Child of God, I cherish my intimacy with my Lord. I don’t want to be a casual acquaintance. I am so thankful I have the blessed assurance my Bridegroom (Jesus) is daily interceding for me ‘Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.’ Romans 8:34

How many of us have sung the hymn ‘Now I belong to Jesus?’ At a former church fellowship I attended… when one rose from the water through baptism, the congregation would sing the refrain: ‘Now I belong to Jesus, Jesus belongs to me, Not for years of time alone, But for eternity.’ It was a celebration like no other as we witnessed what might be called, “New Birth in Action.” He or she was purchased for eternity!
