Do We Have an Entrance into Heaven?

 Have you ever stopped to ask yourself this question: Do we truly have an entrance into heaven?

And if so, what is the only way?

Scripture gives us a clear and sobering answer—and it has nothing to do with gold or silver.

Do we have an entrance into heaven? Yes—through the Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1, KJV).

If gold and silver are to be desired, understand that these things are only good for this life, not the life to come. Faith is greater than gold and silver, for faith is the key to Heaven’s Gate.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6, KJV).

Are you diligently seeking the Lord Jesus Christ?
Is He most precious to you?

We read in Scripture that out of Christ come all the treasures of wisdom, righteousness, and redemption.
“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3, KJV).
“But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30, KJV).

Let us meditate upon the Holy Scriptures—especially the New Testament: the Gospels, the sayings of Jesus, the parables, His interaction with Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38–42), and with His disciples.

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me” (John 5:39, KJV).

You see, Jesus went about doing good (Acts 10:38). He is our example.

And though He was rich, yet He became poor for our sakes.
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9, KJV).

So if you don’t have much of this world’s goods, don’t be discouraged—neither did Jesus.

Of course, He emptied Himself willingly.
“But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant” (Philippians 2:7, KJV).

This is not to say that everyone is called to the same condition. God has created some to be poor and some to be rich. The rich are to help the poor in their needs (1 Timothy 6:17–18), and the poor are not to envy the rich or covet material possessions.

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have” (Hebrews 13:5, KJV).

But as the apostle Paul exhorts us, “that they be rich in good works” (1 Timothy 6:18, KJV).

Ah yes—rich in faith (James 2:5), rich in good works, rich in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

May it be so today.
Walk with the Lord and learn of Him (Matthew 11:29).
