At the rising of the dawn
The babe long predicted from ages
Was born to shine
As the morning star in the sky.
At the rising of the dawn
The Wonderful Counsellor,
The Prince of Peace
Led those who followed his star
To a seeking that ended in the humble kingdom of hay.
At the rising of the dawn
The Son was brighter than the sun of day.
His radiance lit up the earth
The night was as bright and white
The shining stars were clearly seen.
At the rising of the dawn
The Angels visited
The Shepherd's witnessed.
They hurried as told to see for themselves
The Babe who came into the world.
At the rising of the dawn
Three kings reached their destination.
A travel that began way back in time
Now ended at the feet of the Infant Child.
At the rising of the dawn
Gold, Myrrh and Frankincense appeared.
Gold for a king, Myrrh for suffering
Frankincense to adore and praise him.
At the rising of the dawn
Mary pondered on all that had occurred.
Joseph stood guard to protect his family
The most Holy and Revered Family in heaven and on earth.
