As the year slows down
And edges towards the finish line.
We gather our thoughts
On the days and months now left behind.
As the year slows down
And trickles into the library of years.
We rush to capture and keep
The moments that made this year.
As the year slows down
We go through all that took place.
The good, the sad and the surprising ones.
It all made us grow wiser as the year grew by.
As the year slows down
We carry forward in our hearts
The things that are pending in line.
To complete what was left abrupt
To rehash moments and glorify memories.
As the year slows down
We cannot walk backwards to edit or improve.
We can only walk forward
To set our hearts on making things happen in a better way.
As the year slows down
We thank God from our hearts.
For leading us day by day
For blessing us night and day
For keeping us alive to see another year.
