The Shepherd's Candle burns at large
The Pink Candle softly tells it's tale.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Your Maker, your Beloved is coming soon
The time of your waiting is ending.
Trim your lamps, go out into the fields
Stay, stand and watch with the Shepherds.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Today is the Sunday of Joy
Joyful lips, rejoicing hearts.
Raise your voices to sing aloud
'Gloria in Excelsis Deo!.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
The Wilderness and dry land blooms.
The Coastlands and wastelands turn green
The Desert blossoms like Crocus.
The blind see, the deaf here,
The lame leap like a deer,
The mute sings out in joy.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel is coming to ransom us all.
He sends before him his Messanger
John the greatest Prophet born of a woman
Though the least in the kingdom is greater than he.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Your time of lamentation is over.
Look beyond the mountains and hills
For he comes the great majesty
He leaves Heaven behind and comes down to us.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
This day we become the Shepherd's Candle
On guard, alert to receive him when he comes.
In the joyous midnight, the world awakens
The fire in our hearts to warm him in the cold.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Let us sing the Magnificat together with Mary.
My Soul proclaims the greatness of God
My Spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.
Rejoice! Rejoice!
Be happy and praise the King.
The King who gladdens Bethlehem
The King who gives a peace like none other.
The Conqueror of both Heaven and Earth!
