Are you watching at the doors?
Are your hearts filled in advance
Of the pure joy of his sight when he comes?
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
Is the Advent candle buring bright
In your heart, home and in every place?
Does the season enhance your feelings
That the One who can save you will be here any moment.
Be prepared the meet him when he comes
Are your feet taking you to a special place?
Is your hand lifted to your heart in love and rapture
To herald his arrival when he enters?
For he enters to live in your heart forever.
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
Do you count the days to the Silent night?
A night so quiet, a radiance so divine.
The Light of the World to shine forever
When Emmanuel comes to remove all darkness.
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
Do you sing the Christmas Carols loud and clear?
Does each word relate to the scene of long ago?
Do you relive Bethlehem as it happened that night?
Is Christmas the everlasting tune in the lyrics of your soul?
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
He comes as King and Judge
He comes to save the world.
Wear your beautiful garment
Spotless and white to greet him when he comes.
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
Be the Manager to receive him.
Be the Star in the sky of his heart
Be the Tree decorated with love forever.
Let him feel the overflowing joy
That we were ready and waiting for him.
Be prepared to meet him when he comes
Be the Gift to present to him
Just as he gave himself to us.
In this beautiful exchange of gifts
Let Heaven be the sole witness.
