           Faith at Work is Love of God at Work

 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love. Galatians 5:6 ESV

Faith at work must be recognized and worthy, for God’s honor. When the Apostle Paul wrote the most recognized chapter defining God’s Agape’ love, he provided definition for us from God. Being patient, not boastful or rude, enduring all things, and especially not demanding our own way. And this is only part of the great love chapter many of us memorized, but struggle to live by, as we ought to do.

For true faith and Godly love to be freely understood, Charles Spurgeon wrote: ‘This is the glorious way, appropriate, divine way by which love streams from heaven to earth -  a spontaneous flowing out to those who never deserved it, purchased it, or sought after it. It is, indeed the only way God can love people like us.’  

It was decades ago I memorized romans 12:1-2, being taught to be God’s living sacrifice, not conformed to this fleshly world around us. But it was years later that I memorized  verse 3 of Romans 12. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 

I had to ask myself, more than once, learning to be intellectually honest with myself, “Is this what our Lord would have me do, or is my will the determining factor?”
 Another verse I memorized many years ago; ‘For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake’. 2 Corinthians 4:5 ESV  Ouch! What I was proclaiming was not always the Spirit of God’s voice speaking.

What Charles Spurgeon shared, ‘God’s love can flow through people like us. Thank you Lord, for Grace awakening.
