                     God’s Voice Can Always Be Heard

 Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.” Isaiah 52:6 ESV

Moments or even seasons in our lives we might be by ourselves, but we are never alone! Subsequent to my wife’s graduation to be with our Lord, I know when I am still in the quiet of my family room or kitchen, God’s Spirit is before me. Without realizing it I might ask… “Well Lord what should I fix for dinner tonight?” When I’m inspired to sit and write, I never begin until I purposely dedicate my hearts concern to our Lord, asking Him to lead, as I know the power and presence of God’s Holy Spirit will give answer to what He wants me to share and know in what to say.

I even refused to comply with a publisher once, when asked after several re-writes to put a ‘hook’ on my opening. My  devotionals and essays are dedicated for God’s honor. Should I feel it necessary to put my ‘spin’ on what His Spirit is instructing me to write, it’s diluting the message of intent God wants His reader’s to receive and understand. I’ve been blessed through all my articles published, over 30 years, whether poetry, devotionals., or short essays, recognizing my contributions were all for our Lord, not about me.

Once we come to accept Jesus, we are sealed in Him, and no one or anything can break that seal. Just as God chose us from before the foundation of the world, we’re to be set apart for serving to His honor. To become slow to speak (James 1:19) has taught me to become a much better listener when His Spirit wants my attention. As from the last part of my opening verse; ‘they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.”

 Father, thank You for always leading us to hear your voice.
