              Worship MUST Be For God’s Honor

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 ESV

I love my Sunday and week day gathering opportunities, being together with others. To be led and recognize my worship is learning to become a ‘doer of our Lord’s word.’ Worship is not just the excitement of emotion, but learning how to lead. How to demonstrate love for others as our Lord desires, and leads. It takes practice!

When at the grocery store checkout, a well-chosen word can have a positive impact. Actions that align with one's values or purpose can be considered meaningful and recognized for others to also desire. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Proverbs 25:1 ESV

Serving is more than the presence of just doing. But recognizing the presence of God’s Spirit at work, to resonate Jesus in my life. Confidence to share is having an abundant supply of His promises in your heart. We can’t be a ‘doer of the word’ without knowing it. With a working knowledge of promises, we learn what might be appropriate when the opportunity comes. God never intended the follower of Jesus just be hitting someone over the head with fear. It’s not our responsibility!     

For me, praying scripture is not something I am casual about. The hours every day in prayer teach me the context of what is important for my heart. I want my worship in prayer for His honor and leading. Not anxiousness of  my responsibility, but resonate God’s Spirit at work to lead  me.

I am a branch growing stronger in His vine. To recognize, the voice of His Spirit at work in me, will bear fruit of flavor, for another to taste.

Father, without you I can do nothing. Every day I live is worship, strengthening this branch with your word, to your honor.
