In the Image of God

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;...” Genesis 1:26a

 

 

We were made in God’s own image which brings a special blessing. He created nothing that isn’t of value. In His own image He created mankind – what an awesome reality. We – created in the image of God – only in eternity will we come to realize what that truly means.

We are not a haphazard collection of molecules held together by some unseen, detached force but have been formed by the hand of God, in the image of God. Formed are we according to His plan for a purpose that only He reveals in us. What value crowns the life that was formed by Him.

We must look upon everyone in the light of this illuminating truth. We must look upon everyone in light of the value placed upon them by their Maker. There is a blessing in the appreciating of our magnificent creation by the Lord God. Look heavenward and ponder your value.
