                        Truth Is The Best Purchase Of All

Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding. Proverbs 23:23 RSV

When I consider who I am as a new creature in Jesus, I must recognize Who I have committed my life for. Jesus alone proclaimed: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6  Jesus is Truth!

When we come to accept and follow God’s only begotten Son, we’re learning and being led by Truth in action. For sure, Jesus is the best understanding and purchase we can hold onto. This Truth we possess will never leave us or forsake us! His abiding presence living in us is daily working to equip us for the responsibilities and tasks we encounter.

Jesus is the evidence so many are searching for to understand life itself. The world we live in, there are multitudes purchasing books published to find their way. Believing  they have to ‘find themself.’

I read today men and women almost everywhere—atheists, Communists, humanists, Buddhists, Confucianists, animists, Hindus, Taoists, Shintoists, occultists, “New Agers,” and even many “liberals” in the monotheistic religions (Judaism, Islam, Christianity)—really all worship some man or man-exalting evolutionary philosophy and reject God through Jesus as Truth alone.

The Holy Spirit in us reveals understandingwhen we listen to the ‘Voice of God’s Spirit’ to instruct.

Jesus has no purchase price that we should think we can manipulate into bartering who we want. ‘And he said to all, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.  For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” Luke 9:23-25RSV 

Father, putting time and investment into following Jesus really is the best purchase of all!
