Luke 22: 54-62 (Kjv) Ephesians 2: 11-13 (Kjv) Philippians 3: 13 (Kjv) Within only a few hours in the early morning, of every day I wake and begin, regardless of what I am doing at the moment, at any time at all, I can hear the awful sound that reminds me of my sin. Even though, as far as East is from the West, I am certain God has forgiven me of every wrong, this does not help me forget, nor stop my ears from hearing the haunting, terrible song. For, Every time a rooster crows, The sound causes me to tremble deep within, and I weep bitterly, just as I did long ago when I gazed into my Lord's face, convicted by my sin. The rooster does not scare me, but is a reminder that I once denied the One and only Saviour of all men, Then suddenly I hear a voice, speaking to my heart, Child, Peter, You are not who you were at one time. And you are not those dark places you have walked into, You are not the choices you have made, No, You are not where you have been. You are mine, Son, freely forgiven in full, Your past entirely erased by the eraser of my loving hand, And the thoughts I think of you with, are only peaceful, positive ones, more innumerable than the sand. You are complete in me, I could never love you more, than I do now in this moment, this hour, you were called to be a fisher of men, Peter, so continue fishing, reaching all people by my power. After I heard the voice of my Father, Master, Friend, even I needed this reminder, that I am forgiven of every sin, and that every step I take is leading me, to a city, where I will one day leave behind the memories of those places I have been. For I shall at last forget the things, the places, the list of sins I left behind me, upon this old earth so dark, overflowing with much sorrow, and will lift my eyes upon the risen King of glory, bid farewell to the rooster's crow, and greet a new tomorrow. Oh Light of that perfect Day! Light of the world, shining brighter than this earth's old Sun, Let my heart always remember the warmth of your unwavering love, my mind reflect on your goodness shown, my eyes look continually toward you and the mission you gave me, Until that finish line I cross, Help me run this race only forward, you called me long ago to run.
