Below are comments that I made to a brother who posted a video, titled "The gifts of the Holy Spirit":

Brother Sholto, I praise God that you are such a gifted and prolific Christian, far moreso than I. However, I believe that you are not entirely correct about this. Supernatural sign gifts are intended to authenticate a message and messenger as being from God. Think of the Old Covenant: Moses was the mediator and God gave him supernatural gifts and signs. Then, the times of Elijah and Elisha were times of supernatural gifts and signs, authenticating their prophetic messages. And finally, to inaugurate the New Covenant, came Jesus the mediator Who had great supernatural gifts and signs from the Holy Spirit. Jesus even gave the gifts of preaching the gospel, exorcism and healing to the 70 and the Apostles (except Judas, I suspect) before Pentecost, when even more gifts came. However, I believe that the supernatural sign gifts ended, likely in 70 AD, once the New Covenant was further authenticated by the written Word of God.

The best biblical evidence I have for this is when Jesus was about to do the "work" of healing the man born blind and He said this to the Apostles, "We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” Once the light of Jesus the Sun and the Apostles left, only the Holy Spirit the Moon shone through the Church, and the supernatural sign gifts ended.

In my view, "angelic" tongues are a Satanic/demonic counterfeit. If the true gift of speaking in a known language still exists, it should be prevalent in churches. Sociologists have researched this gibberish phenomenon, called glossalalia, and found it in other religions as well. Sholto, I don't doubt that God answered your prayers or faith in the healing of some, but I do not believe that you have had the supernatural gift of healing or miracles. I know there are Pentecostals/Charismatics who claim resurrections and walking on water, but I don't believe them.

The Pentecostal/Charismatic movement really got off the ground in 1906 in Los Angeles (where else?). And 1 thing I do believe is that Satan and the demons not active in the 120 years before Noah's 600th year were released from hell in 1904 to deceive the nations and to steal and to kill and to destroy (compare Genesis 6:3). Pentecostals/Charismatics should also beware of Matthew 7: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not [falsely] prophesy in Your name, and in Your name [falsely] cast out demons, and in Your name [falsely] perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

To my long comment above, I should add, however, that the last 7 years are going to be very supernatural (just like the 1st 7 "days," years, after 14 B with no evolution, Genesis 1:1,2), beginning with the Resurrection/Rapture. Then Moses and Elijah will descend to Jerusalem and preach King Jesus powerfully and do signs and wonders to confirm that they are from God. But the Jewish Antichrist and False Prophet will also be performing signs and wonders. It seems that Satan himself will even resurrect the Jewish Antichrist from the dead and possess him, just as he possessed the serpent (some sort of dinosaur/dragon?) in the Garden of Eden.
