Comments to a So Called Christian Feminist

These comments were made to Ruth Perry, a "Christian feminist," at the end of her very lengthy article on a sermon she heard by now deceased R. C. Sproul. Here is the link to her article:

Grace and peace, Ruth. God is love and so exists in community, in family, in Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Note the 2 masculine names, the fact that the second person of the Trinity came as a man, and the fact that masculine pronouns are used for the Spirit, though there is certainly femininity as well in the Godhead. But there is a God-ordained headship to the masculine. Angels have masculine names, the heads of the 12 tribes of Israel were men and the 12 apostles were men. Note too the hierarchical sense of Father and Son, which is an eternal relationship, not restricted to the time of Jesus’ incarnation. This Trinity is reflected in Man, made in the image of God: Father-Son-Spirit is paralleled by Husband-Wife-Children and Men-Women-Children.

Love is most fully displayed across difference: difference in gender/sex, difference in culture, language, race, between one and an enemy at its highest. This is why difference in authority even exists in the Trinity, more fully to demonstrate love, and why it is therefore also in Husband-Wife-Children relationships and Men-Women-Children relationships. Ephesians 5:21 (“and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ”) clearly carries directly into Ephesians 5:22 (“Wives to your own husbands, as to the Lord.”) Is the subjection not clear? Ephesians 1:22 makes it clear that headship involves a subjection. 1 Corinthians 11:10 makes it clear that authority is involved in the headship of 1 Corinthians 11:3.

Sadly, I am afraid that you are not exhibiting “the fear of Christ” by refuting this godly subjection, as Sproul says.

Do you honestly think that the Church has been completely wrong in its theology of gender for 19 centuries? I believe that Satan and all the demons that weren’t part of the 120-year deception before God’s wrath in Noah’s 600th year–those that were, Jesus made proclamation to in their eternal bonds in hell–were released for their 120-year deception before God’s wrath in the 6000th year, which I believe ends in 2030/31. (Nobody knows the hour or the day, but this is a good guess at the year.) Think of the deception and destruction of the 20th century! Gender confusion began then and has continued since then. Be very careful about any non-traditional theology that has come on the scene since the 19th century. It may very likely be doctrines of demons.

I’ll make one reply, Ruth.

Thank you for your love in Christ, but I do believe that you and all feminist egalitarians are deceived and mistaken and that you are leading people astray. Your view does not align with Jesus’ view, except for the spiritual equality of men and women, but not the functional difference of men and women–in marriage, in the Church and in the world. Remember, it was Jesus Himself that came not as a woman but as a man and He appointed 12 men as His Apostles, not women, though women followed them. Jesus clearly believed in the headship of men, which has the potential to glorify love more fully across the difference in authority, just as it does in the Trinity.

This is so clear from all the gender passages in scripture that it can only be Satanic and demonic deception that can explain the large movement away from this traditional Christian doctrine of 19 centuries to the feminist doctrine of the 20th and 21st centuries. Ruth, this liberal doctrine did begin in the early 1900s with the women’s rights/feminism movement in the West and, sadly, continue with the following in its wake: first, immodesty of dress, leading eventually to more pornography, the sexual revolution, the pill, abortion (1 million dead babies every year in the US), more divorce and family breakdowns, more homosexuality and now complete gender confusion. These are all signs of the coming wrath of God, just as there were signs of the coming wrath of God for 120 years before the Flood. One of these, it seems, was the intermarriage of believers with unbelievers, which I think feminism has only spurred.

Sadly, you and all feminist egalitarians are not engaging in good exegesis of biblical gender texts, but eisegesis, imposing your feminist interpretations onto the biblical gender texts. You are more committed to your feminism than to the Bible and trying to understand why it says the things it says. You have allowed your culture to dictate what you believe the Bible says. You are deceived by Satan and the demons on this, very sadly, and it is a biggie. Our gender identity runs very deep and is key to who we are and has profound societal impacts if it is confused or changed, as we have seen in the last century in the West.

Ruth, if you are humble enough to admit that you might be wrong–and we all need to be that humble, because we all can be deceived–I encourage you to go to Monergism.com and search gender there and read many of the articles there with an open mind. I just read one there titled GENESIS 1-3 AND THE MALE/FEMALE ROLE RELATIONSHIP, which I thought was quite well done. For my part, I will review your site some more, but I have 19 centuries of Christian history on my side and you have a little over 1 century of the deceived last times on your side.

Sorry, Ruth, one more article for you to read. It is a pretty good review of feminism’s history and impacts. I recommend it to you.
