Your goodness pursues me
If I am deep down in the ravine
Or barely holding onto the cliff of a hill
You will pull me up to the safety of land.
Your goodness pursues me
If my soul is in the dungeon of despair
If the darkness creeps at my leaping faith,
You will take me out by the hand
Lead me through the gates into the city bright.
Your goodness pursues me
When I tarry in crossing my own Red Sea
When the force of the water threatens to swallow,
Your guiding staff oars the way through
Your goodness brings me to a promised place.
Your goodness pursues me
When the chilling night and clammy wind
Roars against the hope in my heart,
You stand tall and command the forces
To hush down and let my confidence fan.
Your goodness pursues me
When the creepers come forth
To tie around me clinging strands so thick,
You untie all that hampers my path
Anything that keeps me back, you ply and cut through it.
Your goodness pursues me
Your love chases me day and night.
Not even for a moment am I out of your sight
You keep your eyes on me, your heart is always with mine.
