                                    The Roaring Twenties

What a difference one hundred years will make in how people live their lives. During the 1920’s the ‘Great War’ was past and people were beginning to live each day as they were celebrating their birthday each day of the week. I was reminded how people lived. Everyone was caught up in new trends. Things called ‘flappers, talkies, speakeasies, jazz, and this new invention called radio. Our nation’s economy was recovering after WW 1. It appeared life was just one big party serving self. Then came ‘The Great depression.’

One Hundred years later, ‘Roaring’ 2020’s, we’re witnessing living as outlined in
Mathew 24.

^‘ And then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.  And because wickedness is multiplied, most men’s love will grow cold. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.’ Mt 24:,10-12, 7 ESV More wars, and rumors of wars.Mankind’s love for God is still very cold!

And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Genesis 11:6

Nothing impossible….? What’s  mankind’s way of escape for the penalty of their own ‘self-sufficiency?’ Can mankind know God’s true love,  as defined by ‘The One’ who created love for us?  

Hope that is seen, is not hope. What mankind controls is not hope! The appetite of the world does not dissolve the emptiness from lost, confused, and empty souls.’

 Therefore, brethren, be the more zealous to confirm your call and election, for if you do this you will never fall. 2 Peter 1:10

Thank You Lord, I don’t have to part of the roaring twenties of this generation.
