                           Seeing In Part Is Promised Fulfilled

  For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood. 1 Corinthians 13:12 RSV

I read and re-read  portions of biblical promises and find deeper understanding the more I read. Luke shares;  ‘A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one when he is fully taught will be like his teacher.’ Luke 6:40 I want to be subject to God’s leading, to recognize I too…. Am not there yet.
No matter how many times I read of God’s promises, I will never be fully taught this side of eternity. But as Paul instructs from Romans 8, ‘hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes for what he sees?’  Because I purpose to keep growing and learning, even in my old age, I find more and more fulfillment of God’s promises.

Could Abraham understand, when God told him to leave his home of the Chaldeans in Ur? Could Moses know what was before him when God spoke to him from a burning bush to go back to Egypt? When our Lord blinded Saul of Tarsus on his way to Damascus?

Through faith not yet understood, these saints of old set out. Are we any different today? When the Holy Spirit is knocking at the door of our heart, we do well to listen what the Spirit is asking from us.

Counsel from others is essential, but to listen and obey God’s Spirit is greater blessing than dwell upon something, and not act. Seeing in part is only to recognize our Lord will not set us on a path without first equipping us. God will never allow us to confront situations that He will first prepare us for.

Father, through my reasoning I only understand in part, but in Your power I will be fully equipped for what is before me,  amen.
