Confidence
Self-confidence is often thought to be a virtue.
It’s often thought to be beneficial.
Something to be proud of.
But stop!
Self-confidence can often be dangerous.

There’s a Bible example in Peter’s response to Jesus’ warning about the suffering that lay ahead.
Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” Matthew 26:33, 34 NKJV
Jesus predicted the truth.
He is the Truth.
Peter pronounced confidence in himself and he did exactly as Jesus predicted.
How much more in every challenging situation I need to put my confidence in Jesus!
