He is the author of life
The start and the finish.
The start of creation
He brought all into being.
The finisher of the race of faith.

He is the author of life
He rules over the heavens and the world.
He embraced the cross for our sake
He overturned death into eternal life
He is now seated in his glorious reign.

The author of life
He is the one who will come again
Riding on the white horse in the clouds.
On his robe and thigh will be inscribed
The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.
All will bow and worship him.

The author of life
When he comes back to judge
Lightning will flash across the sky
The stars will fall, planets discourse.
People will be caught up in the sky.
The living will live. The dead will rise.

The author of life
He is the one who gives life
Life on earth, life immortal.
Without him there cannot be life.

He is the author of life
He will come again in glory.
He will separate the sheep from the goats
On the last day, the final day.
