The Horizon

I saw the horizon in the distance
I walked towards it.
It seemed closer at first
But as I kept approaching it
It went further and further away.

I saw the horizon at the end of the sky
It seemed to be cheek to cheek with the azure world.
Though it looked like the low line at first
It was in a direction going ahead and ahead.

I saw the horizon glued to the heavens
Mountains encamped all around it.
I tried to come with terms to it
To capture the horizon is no small feat.

I saw the horizon in my own life
What looked like near to my days,
Was in fact still far off and a long way to come
I still had a great task to reach it on my own.

I saw the horizon deep in my heart
Longings and dreams stashed in its depth.
To make it all come true, only one could help
The Great One who made the Horizon.
It is he alone who can enable me to flag it at the end.
