It all begins again
That which could never end.
It all begins again
As it was meant to do.
It all begins again
Pilate washed his hands in a basin wide
Thought he was free, nothing more to do.
Having Jesus condemned, flogged and crucified
His Roman part done to please the furious crowd.
It all begins again
Little did Pilate ever dream of
Or the High Priest and scribes.
The guards stationed at the tomb did they know?
That an open tomb would tell it's own tale.
It all begins again
Death could not hold one man down
For he had to rise and live again.
Now begins the work of us all
The work he appointed us to do.
It all begins again
From the time of Abraham and Noah,
Moses and Elijah, the work God started
Did not end on the rugged old cross
Nor at the sealed tomb in the garden.
The show must go on and on.
It all begins again
The angels smiled as they sat on the stone.
Heaven's work being done on earth
The Lord still very much amongst us.
It all begins again
Forty days the Risen Lord stayed with us.
His presence made the near over evening time
As bright as morn to light up the hearts,
Of those who had to now begin
His accomplished work on the cross.
It all begins again
The grand finale at Ascension time.
Work still not over in this world,
The day of judgement and second coming
When the work that began is at last a fruitful one.
