My heart is on the Cross
Always on the cross,
For on this very cross my Saviour died for me.

My heart is on the Cross
My heart is at Gabbatha.
Where my Saviour was condemned to die,
By a mob of unruly people when on the pavement seat
Pilate delivered his verdict as alone Jesus stood.

My heart is on the Cross
It is inside the Praetorium.
Where my Lord and master was questioned
When he was the authority over all.

My heart is on the Cross
It is with the Lord in his pain.
The cruel scourging, the painful crowning
How could the Lord endure it all?

My heart is on the Cross
It is at Golgotha, the place of the skull.
Where my saviour was stretched on the heavy cross he carried
Big blunt nails hammered into his flesh.
What more than this could he have done for us?

My heart is on the Cross
Where the Saviour sighs in laboured pain.
When his time approaches at a work complete
From high up on the Cross, he keeps loving us all.

My heart is on the Cross
For here is where I saw,
Blood and water issuing out in rays
From the lanced side of the heart of Christ.

My heart is on the Cross
Here, the Centurion bowed and prayed.
The women of Jerusalem wept.
Though rugged, old and splintered
The Cross was now the topmost Victory for the world.
