The Silent Stone
Is the great big stone.
The Silent Stone
Is rolled before the door of the sepulchre.
The Silent Stone
Is the honorary stone.
The Silent Stone
Encloses the Holy Body of Christ.
The Silent Stone
Is a weeping stone.
The tears of Mary shed in front of it
When it closed on the tomb of our Lord.
The Silent Stone
Is a fragrant stone.
The aroma of anointing oil and spices
Aloe and looming myrrh comes from within.
The Silent Stone
Is a blessed stone.
As the Lord lies asleep in the dark
The Stone on Holy Saturday guards and protects.
The Silent Stone
Is the most performing and promising stone.
For soon it will be rolled back
By the very hands of the Risen Lord
As he comes forth to give us new life.
