GOD’S MIGHT & PRAISE THROUGH PRAYER

Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. 1 Chronicles 29:12 ESV

To Paraphrase C H Spurgeon of something he shared with regard to not living in Spiritual poverty: “I am not weary of the labor, I am weary in it!” For him, it was to recognize the challenge to be in God’s complete inexhaustible sufficiency. Not that of his own reasoning or strength.

I love to spend  at least an hour and usually more, listening to the ‘voice of God’s Spirit’ talk to my heart to begin my day. I’ve come to recognize prayer in made not to overcome the petition of my heart, but recognize God’s Grace and sufficiency for my own worship. I never want to live in poverty of prayer. Finding my worth is through finding God’s worth in me.

God’s admonition for each one of us is to cast all our anxieties on Him because he cares about each one of his children. Let’s be honest and transparent with Him, as we would want our own children to be the same with us.

There is beauty and calm to recognize God is patient with us, because He’s not finished with us as long as we’re on this side of eternity. Remember, hope that is seen is not hope, for who hopes what he sees….Romans 8:24

Striving together by the preeminence of God’s abiding Holy spirit in us, we’re worshipping our Lord, bringing praise and honor to Him, resulting in His promise to our own heart. For sure, the riches and honor we might obtain will be the result of God’s hand to make us great, not of our worldliness or our academic achievement, but because of His love and authority over us.

Father, thank you for helping me to be weary in striving for your spiritual excellence, AMEN
