                        FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD’S WORD

Whoever gives thought to the wordwill discover good,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. Proverbs 16:20 ESV

One day I was sharing a message I gave about laying up God’s word in our heart. I shared with my audience my very first scripture passage I memorized. Not realizing it as a young boy, maybe 6-7 years of age, what it would mean to me throughout the rest of my life.

 In my parents’ bedroom, my mother had a fold-out with a picture of Jesus on one side and ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ on the other side. My sister kept that on her dresser in her own bedroom, until the Lord took her home. I believe it is now in one of her children’s possession.

Years of my growing how to ‘Put on’ the Lord Jesus through laying up His word in my heart, I still reflect back as a young boy, what a huge impact the Lord’s Prayer has meant to me, especially later in life. Raising my own family of five wonderful children, learning what it meant… ‘Thy will be done!’

My sharing all this I pray, will help others recognize God’s promises and love through having His word in one’s heart. The thousands of promises bring encouragement, much comfort, and hope, when doubt might creep in, to challenge our Lord’s preeminence over us.  

Daily fellowship with God’s infallible truth and promises, really are the best medicine of all ages, for our physical and Spiritual challenges.

Father, thank you for your faithfulness to see me through my seasons of reaching up to recognize my fellowship with Your promises to me.’ AMEN
