Jesus Is Our Everlasting Something

As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children. Psalm 103:15, 17RSV

The preeminence of God’s love for us has not destined us for wrath, or discouragement, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Learning to love him brings hope with encouragement for everything before us.

Through our own strength we may endeavor to obtain a limited amount of fulfillment. How I have understood that, over my own years of growing and learning to achieve something I set out to do. Only to discover more, the value of seeking out my goal and task by asking myself, “what am I seeking to obtain as the true purpose of my desire?”

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

 To make a situation or commitment have ‘everlasting’ significance and value, God’s honor must come first. Especially if it’s something to be remembered by others, I know I must dedicate it before our Lord. I may start out to accomplish something, but as with ‘grass or the flower of the field,’ will it be remembered as something worthy, or fade too soon like the flower?

Learning to desire the Lord to lead in ALL our endeavor’s, will never fade away like grass that’s not watered.

Father, thank you for allowing me to understand your ways are so much higher than my limited reasoning. AMEN
