             Birth Pangs Are Necessary for All

We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. Romans 8:22-23 RSV

These kind of ‘birth pangs’ are felt by us all as we venture the ‘narrow path’ given each new follower of Jesus. Our internal GPS, or conscience, will struggle to recognize those measures of our ‘old self,’ we desire to leave behind. As we venture more and more of finding God’s direction and purpose. Whether you’re a new follower of our Lord, or walking with him through many miles of time.

Staying focused to keep tasting those ‘firsts fruits of God’s Spirit,’ to be preeminent, to recognize them. Being part of God’s ‘whole creation’ will bring a daily testing of our internal GPS to endure those ‘birth pangs’ of decisions, as we travail together.

If we’re not groaning inwardly, or daily learning to die to self, (Luke 9:23-26) the power of darkness of this world will do everything possible to overshadow the ‘Light of Life.’ promised us.
  Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Learning to ‘daily die to self,’ becomes our own growing and learning. There are seasons when; ‘waiting for adoptions as sons,’  teaches us to determine Who we want to follow. Temptations of Darkness, or the ‘Light of Life.’

Father… lead us though those birth pangs we encounter throughout our daily walk in Jesus!
