                Living ‘in Jesus’ Is…

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me
 2 Corinthians 12:9 RSV

Living in Jesus is… possessing God’s sufficiency and strength. It is not temporary, nor will it ever perish. For certain, nothing with God is ever just a fading moment. What a promise we have here… ‘that the power of Christ may rest upon me.’

Living ‘In Jesus,’ is the beginning to recognize and understand the measure of faith God assigns us, as His followers. (cf Romans 12:3) What we’re about throughout each moment of the day, recognizing and resting in the preeminence of God faithfulness and everlasting sufficiency.

None of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.
Romans 14:7-9

Paul amplifies here, as a new creature in Christ, we are given God’s purpose for becoming a ‘Child of God.’ We are of the living, not to busy ourselves, for our pleasure as it were, but to recognize, whatever we do work heartily as for the Lord’s honor. (cf: Colossians 3:17, 23)

Father, thank you for creating in me a clean heart to honor you with what I can be in Jesus. Your sufficiency be recognized in all I can do and say. AMEN
