                  When Jesus Went on a Picnic

 But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” Luke 9:13 ESV

How it is, when reasoning of the flesh reacts from our finite ability to say something. Before we seek what our Lord can and will do. God gives each of His followers His Holy Spirit to direct us how and what to ask before acting and or saying something.

Like the day of that ‘great picnic,’  when our Lord gave instruction, we might  be convinced; there are too many, or, we don’t have enough money. (As from the Mathew account) Even Jesus looked up to heaven and said a blessing.

Prayer is a mighty force when guidance is needed. Asking the lord to direct is better than having to ask him to correct our limiting reasoning. A commentary shares: ‘No one should ever expect God’s approval of plans for which He has not been consulted.’

Think what happened on the day of ‘our Lord’s picnic.’  There were really more than five thousand men. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Mathew 14:21

The picnic that day was better than going to the County Fair in my estimation. Indeed, when we commit to seek the Lord first and commit the situation to Him, our plans will be established.

Father, thank you for allowing me to recognize your preeminence in my daily walk by faith through Jesus, before I determine my decision to act. It really must be your sufficiency that I rest my life upon-AMEN
