            When Christ is Our Sufficiency

And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.  For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. Colossians 1:18-19 ESV

Remember when a child,  or even later in high school or college you had concerns about who you might become? Maybe you sought out the counsel of someone special you really trusted to be honest with you about an immediate situation.

As followers of Jesus, we’re now under the guidance and purpose of the very One who created us. I find myself asking; ‘Is Christ’s preeminence in me obvious to others?’  Is it His Spirit that I’m listening to? Desire to want His light to be recognized in my daily living?

One of the first lessons to learn in walking with Jesus, is to recognize he knows us better than we know ourselves. Learn to be intellectually honest and completely transparent with God, especially in prayer.

For sure, all the fullness of God, His omnipotent power is there to lead and teach us. To lead us in the way of His desire. (Proverbs 16: 9)

 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
For certain,we have God’s sufficiency in us. The challenge is to fully understand and surrender to His Spiritual Promptings and find strength and direction from daily digesting God’s word for the Spiritual nourishment necessary for us to decrease that Jesus increase. (John 3:30)

Father, thank you for nurturing us to want you to be preeminent.
