                      Gushing Water or Stagnant Pool?

Jesus did not isolate individuals or select certain people groups. This is evidenced from His presence at the wedding at Cana, to the Samaritan woman at the well in Sychar. Even when he told Zacchaeus to climb down from the tree that he stay at his house.

His presence reflected how the Holy Spirit was, like ‘Living Water.’ To reach out to those thirsty for that which will refresh the soul with gushing rivers of pure ‘Living Water,’ for new birth. Remember what Jesus told Nicodemus, “  Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” John 3:5ESV

Living Water is of God. For some, it’s a new awakening to understand.  ^‘Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ John 7:38

Jesus’ appeal was that anyone who thirsts could come to him and drink. He does indeed quench every thirsty mind. He brings his love to a thirsty heart.

I don’t want to be a stagnant pool in my responsibility to allow others to be refreshed. For others to find new birth. Born of living water with a right and new Spirit for a clean conscience and thirsty heart for the Word of Truth. ‘Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.’  1Peter 1:23

Jesus is the way of escape for this stagnant world all around us without true hope and thirst that only he will refresh!

Father, equip me to reach hearts thirsty for gushing water of your word.
