Praising God Truly are Apples of Gold

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Proverbs 25:11 ESV

Robert Murray McCheyne lived to be only 29 years. But became one of the brightest lights in the Church of Scotland. Born in 1813. Known for his penetrating ministry of God’s word. From  a sermon given on November 24,1839… “If you cannot praise God, you will never be there.” (speaking of heaven)

That struck me as I read through the sermon. There are seasons walking through faith, we must find and trust God’s promises. Faith given me strengthens my hope. Especially praising our Lord, through seasons of abundance and concern.  

His mercy- in what He has given me in my new birth. Having my name in His ‘Lambs Book of Life,’ is a measure of grace given so undeserved. When I wake each morning I pray, “This is the day the Lord has made just for me, I will rejoice and be glad in Him.”

Years of answered prayers- when I consider blessing from seasons our Lord hearing my heart, brought forth abundance of fruit for the immediate need or concern, I am all the more praising Him with thankfulness.

Laborers of Love- provided me, ever so thankful for hearts that were there for me. Those moments when I too, was that laborer of love to another in need. To our family. To bring comfort, encouragement, and hope. Finding God’s sufficiency for us through believing without seeing.   

I would go much further in testimony why praising God should not be something casual. But for sake of limited words, I share the measure of God’s worthiness and intimate love.
