Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. Psalm 25:12 RSV

Throughout our living, walking by faith and not fear, becomes a growing and learning process. To let go in order to let our Lord direct our path takes lots of time and practice. For some it may be like a light bulb flashing before them. For others, it’s like Pilgrim, on the road to the Celestial City from Bunyan’s Pilgrims progress.

My opening verse, ‘God will instruct in the way one chooses,’ we may know only too well. But wanting to deny self that we take up our own burden is to recognize, His Spiritual prompting and leading.    

And he said to all, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.  For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? Luke 9:23-25

How I recall my years in public service with my administrative tasks. A ‘take charge person’ to get things done. While it is important for developing leadership skills, walking daily in the power of God’s preeminence, can be challenging to ‘let go,’  for divine intervention to lead.

How blessed we are to recognize our days with God’s presence to lead. His abiding Spirit in us stands out with greater vision to discern what’s before us.

Father, thank you for saving my life that I may lose it to do your will.
