                                  CHOSEN BEFORE TIME

 Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. Ephesians 1:4RSV

Our limited finite abilities we’ll never fully recognize or understand. God designed and created us even before our earthly parents ever met. What a beautiful truth to grasp, and never doubt or be fearful of. This is evidence that God has purpose for each one of us. And if He made us on purpose for His purpose, you can be certain, he will also equip us for the task he sets before us.

When we come to accept our Lord’s invitation to receive and follow Him, from that moment forward, God gives each of us, his children, at least one ‘Spiritual Gift’ Not of our own choosing, but assigned us from our Lord. To be used for His honor, not for our edification. Even our earthly academic education, should not be recognized as God’s choosing. Though our individual interests might be recognized as ‘good works’ to honor God.

Just as faith is assigned us from our Lord, (cf: Romans 12:3) all this is designed by God before our time, as we know it. Something I’ve been so appreciative of, that God is not casual about who he made us to become.

We are indeed His workmanship that we perform our deeds to His honor, (Colossians 3:17) no matter what the task. The Apostle Paul, many times, shared how God wants us to understand the significance why He created us. Not for our redemption, but giving light to others as evidence, things we give are gifted for. Even before time began.     

Father, thank you for choosing us.
