GOD’S WILL Is Answered When We Ask

‘Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.’ Proverbs 16:3 RSV
Truly, we’re to understand, God will answer our petitions. But sometimes we don’t hear the voice of His word, or His Spirit, when we’re speaking. That is to say, sometimes the requests we bring before Him are not what He is wants to hear from us.
How I learned many years ago, before I bring my requests to God, I purposely will spend time listening, and meditating upon His promises, to gain discernment before I make my petition known.
We must remember, He who created us, know our heart better than we do, to give Him credit and honor. Learning not to become anxious (Philippians 4:6-8) takes practice. James 1:19 admonishes us; to be slow speak, quick to hear or listen, and slow to anger. That’sespecially necessary in prayer.What’s inside the Spiritual heart is what counts.
Many years before my retirement, I would dedicate each work day to God, that is to say… I wanted the presence of His Spirit and preeminence to lead me throughout my workday. This was not making some vow to God, but only to seek His presence and abiding Spirit to go before my work responsibilities. Retired now for many years, I still spend the first part of the day listening to the ‘voice of His word.’ (Psalm 103: 20) Seeking answer for my prayers… to do His will.
Father, thank you for reminding me, where my treasure is, there will my heart be also. Help me always to look to things above, not the things on earth when I talk with you.

Currently, we are undergoing tough economic times in Kenya but the word of God encourages us that the righteous shall live by faith. Yes the word is faith believing in the unseen but trust the Lord will do for us.
I have read your article on forgiveness and it is real. For God to cause blessings upon our lives we need to repent of our sins and seek forgiveness from those whom we have hurt their feelings and forgive also those who have hurt us in one way or the other. We live in the world that is full of hurt, hatred, discord, unforgiveness, jealousy the worldy behavior that is stressed by Paul to Galatians in Galatians 5:19-21. May the Lord help us to embrace Galatians 5:22.
