                     Her Son Would Be Her Savior

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 ESV

When considering the joy we are to take hold of throughout this Advent time of year, we never seem to consider the heart condition what Mary felt. When the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary revealing to her, the seed of God was placed in her womb.

 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:34-35

Mary was to understand her physical life would one day be receiving ‘new birth’ herself, because of what the Father promised.

After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.  And all who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. Luke 2:46-47And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51b

As did Mary, we too, must treasure these things in our hearts to be our very own.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13

Thank You Father for the blessing of new birth in the Name of Jesus, your Son
