                             What Does it Mean to be Raised with Christ?

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Colossians 3:1 NASB 1995 

From the moment we make our profession to accept and follow our Lord Jesus, we’re all on ‘Milk Bottle level’ of understanding faith. None of my academic credentials have any part in my growing and learning experiences of walking by faith. Not trusting my fleshly reasoning. I think back those many years of my ‘Civil Service’ career, and all the many hats I wore, with regard to my responsibilities, my faith, was not something I manufactured or manipulated.     

Romans 12:3 declared our faith is given from God, from above. Our trusting God is best understood by what John the Baptist tells us:   ‘He (God) must increase, but I must decrease.’ John 3:30 But how do we best do that? How do we learn to let go all our human reasoning, that God’s preeminence reign?

I have learned over the years, what God is telling me with regard to: ‘keep seeking those things above… ‘Letting go my ‘old self’  was to determine things in my life where I was not wanting God first and foremost! Before my serving me. For sure, we’re all challenged daily, learning to ‘let go.’ It’s determined individually, as we search our own hearts. (Psalms 139:23-24)

Colossians 3:2 best answers my opening question. ‘Learning to set my mind on things above,’ that is to say; what in my life does not bring God honor? Colossians 3:23 proclaims… ‘Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.’
