                             God’s Spiritual Promptings

‘But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.  God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 ESV 

Today, more than from recent generations past, we’re witnessing a hostility against us as we purpose to share with the lost. We dare not resign ourselves to circumstances that challenge what we know to be evidence of hope to a lost and contentious world around us.  

My years employed as a U.S. Civil Servant, ( not military) were years of blessings. I considered those I worked with, along with those I served, as ‘my field of harvest.’ Yes, there were those who challenged me. But more than what I might say, the reflection of our Lord was recognized more by the manner of how I lived and served those around me.

 Today, for those out in the work force of today, whether it’s serving, manufacturing, research, the challenge is still to recognize your own ‘field of harvest.’

Paul said it so well…  ‘For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.’ Romans 5:8

As followers of our Lord, He equips each one of us to the task before us. Learning to serve others was recognizing to deny myself. cf: Luke 9:23-24

Father, thank you for allowing us to become doers of your word, to give others a glimpse of your love, to become a new creature in Jesus, AMEN
