                     UNDERSTANDING GOD’S ARMOR

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17 ESV

It’s been nearly 50 years ago now when I was truly introduced to a real personal relationship of intimacy with our Lord. I made my personal confession of faith 62 years ago at age 15. Not until I truly wanted and needed, His preeminence over my life, did I recognize I really was just a casual acquaintance.

I read that as of 2021 there are an estimated 2.5 billion Christians worldwide. However, how many are true ‘followers of Christ?’ I do not ask this to be condescending, but wonder, what percentage of those who wear His Name, know His word?  This brings intimacy to the One who created us?  Never ashamed to wear His uniform! I was one of those for too many years. A casual follower who was not equipped for Spiritual warfare.

 In later years, I was blessed to have two of my sons and one of my grandsons give a total 18 years serving in our Nation’s armed forces. They had to understand their weapons and learn how to use them.

In our quest to conquer the dart’s of the evil one, we too, need to put on and live by God equipping us to do Spiritual warfare. I continue daily, asking our Lord to keep knocking at the hearts of all five my children and all my grandchildren. To equip those I love.

Father… open our hearts to want intimacy with you, and for you’re Holy Spirit to give wisdom and counsel. Learning how to wear and live your ‘Sword of the Spirit’. AMEN
