The Measure of God's Grace

Recently, i felt like i was stuck in The Land of Distractions.

i had felt under conviction due to some things in my life that were not helping me to focus on Him. Not always sinful things, but simple distractions that can easily come in when i am physically tired.

This morning in prayer, i repented and asked the Lord to forgive me. i have had a book on my heart for quite some time and feel His nudging to get started on it again. i thought that maybe i needed to work through some of the issues that i will be covering before i was allowed to write about them. He told me a couple of things. One was that i was allowing the enemy to tell me where i was spiritually, instead of trusting what God told me. If i have been forgiven - then i am forgiven! i needed to quit listening to the enemy and reignite my belief in what i knew was from Him.

Secondly, He said that i was attempting to measure His grace. This is a task that cannot be done. i thought that if i adjusted my life and did things just right, then His grace would have to come in. (i am not advising that we should live carelessly, but our lives in Him are a gift of His grace.) The more grace that i believe He has, the more He has to give. My faith should be based on His grace, even though i cannot measure it, not on what i can hold in my hands.

Awesome, Lord - thank you!! i cannot measure Your grace; i cannot even begin to get a grasp on the fullness of Your love and mercy. i think that is what makes it grace!!

Father, i praise You for Your grace. That which i could never earn, but so freely accept as Your gift to me!!
