Christians Have Much To Look Forward To

Humanity is in the closing hours of the Church Age of Grace. The world as history has known it to be for thousands of years is about to change dramatically as we approach the Tribulation Period of God’s judgment. The troubles and distresses are going to increase and intensify, but for those who have put their faith in the one and only Savior, Jesus Christ, there is much to look forward to.

     First, while the Tribulation Period is happening on Planet Earth, believers in Jesus will be called out of the world into the presence of God in “the twinkling of an eye” and will be transformed from mortal to immortal (First Corinthians 15:51-52 and I Thessalonians 4:16-17). Christians will not have to endure the wrath of God on earth. 

     Second, upon entering into God’s presence, whether by death or by rapture, we will have a “brand new immortal body and a mindset...which will be free from temptation to sin,” says Dennis Huebshman.  Michael Heiser adds, “believers will have the same sort of body that Jesus had after the resurrection.” As an added feature, author John Piper says, “We will be changed so that we are capable of dimensions of happiness that were inconceivable to us in this life.”

     What kind of body did Jesus have that will be ours also? Scripture tells us He appeared in different forms (Mark 16:12), vanished in front of people (Luke 24:31), and just appeared to some disciples meeting in a room without  coming through any door (John 20:26). He did not need a transporter like in Star Trek. How exciting it will be to have a body like that! 

     Third, Christians will be reunited with family and friends who passed away previously, and who also put their faith in the Savior Jesus. Parents will be reunited with babies and young children who died by accident or illness, who were not old enough to be accountable before God. 

     Fourth, Christians will, sometime after the Tribulation Period, come back to earth to rule and reign with Christ for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:6). Think of that: reigning with Christ! 

     Fifth, we will spend eternity in the presence of a loving and gracious God. It can only be imagined: an existence that will go and on with no end. In earthy terms it will last for billions of years. Heaven is real. People on their death beds have seen it! 

     In the meantime on earth, as things get progressively worse, keep your eyes focused on the glorious future God has in store for people who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. Even the pleasures of this world are meaningless compared to what lies ahead. It will be much better than the Great Reset on earth. The question is, will you be a part of it? Will I meet you there?
