                                         New Life is Spirit Led

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.  Romans 8:5 RSV

I’ve learned over my faith walk from my makeover, that is to say, growing and learning to live ‘in Jesus,’ is the result of how much I let go ‘self’ to obtain the fragrance of God’s preeminence. Consider how this verse can be amplified. A demonstration by a recognized pastor used the following illustration. “Take the word FLESH and remove the letter H, we’ll determine as heavenly. Now reverse the letters remaining, and you spell the word SELF.”

Self-reasoning is our challenge to let go of. But gain by laying up God’s word in our heart, are true promises. To illumine our understanding toward ‘H’, is our heavenly understanding promised from Romans 8:6. To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Witnessing all the hostility, despair, anxiety, and unrest, from the world all around me, I’m ever so thankful I have the power of God’s presence to rest upon to find what I’m looking for. Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Life is God’s inspired word. Transformation takes place from ‘self’ the more we have God’s promises to find our hope to things not yet seen. cf: Romans 8:24-25

Father, thank you for your promises to take hold… to live in the abiding preeminence of our hope to things not yet seen in Eternity.
