The savior of humanity is not the government, the Great Reset, the vaccine, nor solving climate change. Real change has to come from within the human heart. All the evil, racism, injustice, and whatever else one wants to mention as being wrong or sinful is a reflection of human nature in need of a savior.
Many people say they believe in Jesus. It is a matter of what they mean by belief. Probably most people believe in Jesus as a historical figure, or prophet, or a great teacher, or someone with good moral character. All of this is true, but it doesn’t make Jesus above any other person who has ever lived, and most certainly not one who has attracted worldwide attention and worship for all the centuries of history.
Belief in Jesus includes four areas:
1. Belief that He is the Son of God in human flesh, supernaturally conceived of a virgin, thereby not inheriting human DNA and the sinful condition of humanity. Why did Jesus take the form of a human, yet without a sin nature? Michael Heiser answers this question in his book, The Unseen Realm. “He had to become a man to ensure that humanity, God’s imager, is not erased from the Edenic vision due to his mortal weakness and invariable propensity to use his free will to attempt to gain autonomy from God.”
2. Belief that He died on a cross for your sins, and physically and bodily rose from the dead.
3. Belief in the claims He made about Himself: that He is the living water, the bread of life, the light of the world, the resurrection and the life, and the way, the truth, and the life.
4. Belief that He is the one and only Savior for each individual person, and humanity at large.
If any one of these four elements is lacking, one does not believe in The Jesus who is able to save a person’s soul and seal their eternal redemption. Any person who is staking his or her spiritual salvation on anything less has a false sense of security.
However, before there is acceptance of this one and only Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, there has to be a recognition of a person’s need for a savior. Human nature without the grace and transforming power of God will not save humanity. Each person has to be transformed from the heart, inside out. Jesus has the power to forgive sins, heal the sick, and cure the emotionally hurting. He accepts each person as they are, no matter how bad they have been. Then he gives them a new purpose for living, and a hope for the future on earth and in heaven.
Read the Gospel of John in the New Testament. If anything was not true about Jesus, it would have been disputed by those who lived at that time. It is recorded history.
“No man can by any means redeem his brother, or give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of his soul is costly, and he should cease trying forever - that he should live on eternally”(Psalm 49:7-9). “There is only...one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all...” (I Timothy 2:5-6).
Acts 4:12 says “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.”
